HUMP DAY !
I'm using the same photo on this blog for a little bit, in hopes reading it frequently will help get the message across !
I had said I wanted to write more in 2024 and I'm trying to do that. I'm following the idea in the photo above: do what you can !!
I mentioned we had a high wind warning last night into today and about 11 pm last night the power went out for the 2nd time. It wasn't out long but for some reason my internet router didn't reset itself, so I had to get out of bed and go downstairs to do that. I didn't get much sleep so I had zero ambition today. It was warm today (low 40's) but we had some snow flurries and some mild winds. We now have a lake effect snow warning until 1 am Friday. We're not expected to get more than a couple inches. Saturday is supposed to hit 40 again and that's good news since I have to go out.
Got a text tonight that the birthday party for Barb is on for Saturday, so I'll be whipping up a potato salad for that. I'll probably cook the potatoes and eggs Friday night and then put the salad together on Saturday morning. I guess this will be a "last hurrah" before I restart Nutrisystem ! Burger, hot dogs, potato salad, margaritas, cake and ice cream !
Work was slow again today so I completed the 2 compliance classes that have been assigned. I also started working on clearing out my files. I have tons of stuff that dates back years and most of it is not needed. Once I'm done with the files I will tackle my email. I got rid of a lot of stuff last year when I thought I was going to have to retire, but there are still thousands of emails that can be deleted.
Today I tossed the rest of the butter cookies, even though I hate throwing food away. I ate the rest of the weiners wrapped in puff pastry for lunch and had a frozen mac & cheese for dinner. I still have 3 mac & cheese and 2 chicken/mash/corn bowls left. I also have the last 4 egg rolls, a few fries (which I may toss), a few pizza rolls and a few chicken tenders. I have one serving of vanilla ice cream left, along with 5 Klondike bars. There are 12 packs of pop tarts and 6 cinnamon roll toaster strudels, along with a half a loaf of cinnamon oatmeal raisin bread. I also still have the Ghirardelli chocolates, the snacks from Florida, the Gardetto's snack mix and the chips.
I can honestly say I'm tired of just about all the stuff I mentioned above. I still like my Pop Tarts and raisin bread. Chips are not really my thing but I do like the Gardetto's when I want something salty. I'm ready to go back to Nutrisystem ! I finished the cranberry juice today and I have 12 bottles of soda left. I will likely finish most of the junk I've mentioned over the next 4 days and then that's it ... done with it !
I still have a little bit of a cough and I blow my nose a couple times a day, but I feel good. I think I can get on the treadmill and just walk a slow pace to start. I don't see any reason not to start exercising Monday as well. Nice thing is I have Monday off, so it'll be a good day to ease back into my former routine. I need to start getting dressed every day, exercising every day, showering every day and eating right every day. I also need to increase my water intake.
Today I cleaned the litter boxes and most of the laundry room during my lunch hour. I still want to vacuum out there and get the laundry done, so that will be a tomorrow project. I need to vacuum the carpet and that can be tomorrow project too. I might also start stripping the tree and gathering up the decorations on the front porch. I want to have all that stuff down and stored before Monday. To keep myself busy on Monday I have a lot of "clutter" in my office and around the house that needs to be cared for. It would be nice to have everything shipshape by Tuesday.
It's nearly 9 pm so I'm heading to bed. I can't seem to get comfortable in bed anymore and I'm not quite sure why. Is it really my weight ? I'm just so restless and can't find a comfortable position. The new pillows I got for Christmas are nice but they're not what I was looking for. That's MY mistake. Tonight I'm going to try going back to my usual pillow setup and see how that works.
