Slow Start to 2024
I'm going to use the same photo on this blog for a little bit, in hopes reading it frequently will help get the message across !
After a restless night I woke up to a coating of snow on the ground and temps in the 20's. I had a really hard time settling in bed last night. No matter how I situated myself, I just wasn't comfortable. As a result, it was tough to drag myself out of bed this morning. Part of the problem is the weight I've gained. My lingering cough didn't help either. I also have new pillows and I'm trying to figure them out. They're super comfortable but until my respiratory issues are 100% resolved it's going to be a challenge sleeping completely horizontal. I also spent most of December getting up later, so my sleep schedule is just out of whack.
Tomorrow I'm going to the office so I have to be up at 4 am. That's going to be fun .. not ! At least it'll be out of the way until February ! Weather is calling for snow showers before noon but there is no accumulation expected, so I think the drive to Oswego will be fine. I'm so grateful to my colleague Chuck being willing to do the majority of the drive ! The short hop down 104 to Oswego (where we meet) takes me about 20 minutes, which includes a stop at Dunkin for a coffee. The drive to Rochester takes another 90+ minutes ! It's a great time for Chuck and I to catch up. We're the same age, we're both left handed, we both have 20+ years of service and we think the same.
I may delay the "restart" of my diet and exercise to Monday January 15, because I don't think I'm going to be 100% by Monday January 8.
