Day 16: TGIF !
This picture will continue to be the header of my blog until I'm able to establish some better habits. I originally wrote "good habits" but I'm trying to stay away from negativity - so things are not "bad" vs "good". How about good vs better for positivity ! I think this daily reminder is helping as I've been able to start getting things done!
It was 29 degrees when I woke up this morning and the house was nice and warm! The plow woke me up before 5:30 so I tried to view my ring camera to see how much snow we got. The camera was offline so that meant the wifi wasn't working. I knew I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep so I got dressed and headed downstairs to reset the router. The clock on the stove was flashing so that means the power went out at some point during the night. Once I reset the router all was well and I logged myself into work and sat down with a cup of coffee to watch some YouTube. Yesterday I started putting my coffee in an insulated travel mug so that I don't have to keep microwaving it. I like my coffee burning hot! Problem is, the cup is a pain in the ass but it keeps my coffee hot. I think I need one with a trigger style so I don't have to use 2 hands to have a sip of coffee.
We had a few inches of snow overnight but it was nothing drastic. The winter storm warning expires at 10 am and the radar didn't seem to indicate we'd be getting any more snow today. Looks like snow showers are in the forecast for the weekend, but it'll be out of here by Monday. Temps are going to be in the 20's and 30's until Wednesday, when it's supposed to be near 50! Monday night has a forecast low of 15 but the rest of the week will be much warmer. I'm so glad I installed the heat cable in the basement. It has given me such peace of mind.
Since I was up so early I got a lot done before work! I swept the snow off the back porch and outside the garage doors. I also cut up a head of lettuce for salad.
Breakfast was 160 calorie waffles with sugar free syrup and an 80 calorie yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie protein shake. Lunch was a 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with a chef salad. I never had my afternoon snack. Dinner was a chicken enchilada (222 calories) with green beans. Evening snack was a lemon zest cake (140 calories) with whipped cream. I also had an 80 calorie yogurt.
When noon rolled around I was looking for excuses not to exercise, but found none. I was a little short on time because I was on a call from 10:30 to 12 and didn't think about feeding Abby before noon. Fortunately I had my shoes on and my shake made ! Once the cats were fed it was 12:10 so I chose a 19m41s endurance workout. The pace was 2.5 mph for the duration. I struggled with that at first but gradually settled in and made it to the end. I was done by 12:40 and had enough time to make my salad, pee and sit down here to write for a few minutes.
Work was steady but not busy and I closed out a lot of project. My worklist is shockingly low, so I really hope another big project comes along! We have a long weekend so many by Tuesday a few new things will come in.
Once 5 pm rolled around my day went off the rails. I had zero motivation to exercise, so I didn't. I didn't shower either, so no skincare. Can I give myself a break on Friday night? Well, not every Friday night. Winter is tough and my motivation seems to go up and down like a yoyo.
