Day 17: Weekend Vibes
This picture will continue to be the header of my blog until I'm able to establish some better habits. I originally wrote "good habits" but I'm trying to stay away from negativity - so things are not "bad" vs "good". How about good vs better for positivity ! I think this daily reminder is helping as I've been able to start getting things done!
It was 23 degrees when I got up today and it looked like we had a little bit of snow overnight. Show showers rolled in around 10 am but it was the light fluffy stuff and it didn't last long, so no big deal. Abby started bugging me when it was still dark out and I refused to get up. I was tired and needed some sleep. I got up just after 8 and once she had fresh water and a full tummy she settled down to snooze. Minnie settled in to snooze on my bed, which I've now made 2 days in a row! Making my bed used to be an every day occurrence but I haven't done that since before I went to Disney. I came home sick and it took me a long, long time to fully recover. I'm pretty sure I had COVID, and that was complicated by the sinus and ear infections. I will never go to Disney as a fat person again.
Breakfast was a 180 calorie cinnamon roll and an 80 calorie yogurt. I had no morning snack. Lunch was a 210 calorie grilled chicken sandwich. I didn't have an afternoon snack either. Dinner was 260 calorie roasted turkey and brussel sprouts. Evening snack was a 140 calorie chocolate cupcake with whipped cream. I also had an 80 calorie yogurt before bed, because I was pretty low on calories. I had a total of 870 plus extras (whipped cream) and the brussel sprouts had olive oil. I bought them without realizing it and this was the last package.
I finally took the time to sit down and place an "a la carte" Nutrisystem order, to take advantage of the 55% Presidents Day discount. I ended up with 48 breakfast items, 40 lunch items, 24 dinner items and 36 evening snack items. That's a total of 148 items for $304.92. I normally pay this amount for 96 items, so it's like getting 52 items free! I used gift cards that I purchased for $239.97 ($79.99 each) so I actually paid $244.89 for all this food. I went heavy on the breakfast and lunch items because I don't have an overstock of them. I never miss breakfast and I rarely miss lunch. I have a backlog of dinner items because I was eating other stuff for dinner while I was sick, so I didn't buy a ton of them. I don't have a overstock of evening snack items so I bought a few extras. I was surprised to see that the beef, bean & cheese burrito is available "a la carte" but I'm not able to get it as part of my normal monthly order. I suspect I'm on a grandfathered plan and they've limited what items I can get. I bought 12 of them today, so I'll have them for a little bit. Now that I know it's still available I will keep an eye out for sales to get more of them. I looked in to changing plans but I would end up paying more money, so I'm going to ride my old plan until the end. I think I mentioned in a previous blog that I checked online for burrito options but they all exceed the 230 calorie count of the Nutrisystem item. My only other option would be to make my own. I do have tacos once in a while, so I get my Mexican fix!
It was nearly 1 pm when I started thinking about getting my fat ass on the treadmill. I was watching a YouTube video and decided that when it was over I would get some exercise. I fed Abby her lunch, made my shake, got myself another cup of coffee and put my shoes on! Well, next thing I knew it was 1:30 so I reset my goal for 2 pm. Well, then it was 7 pm and the day was a bust. I missed my morning snack and my afternoon snack and I hadn't had dinner yet. I spent the day working on more of my passwords and account updates. It's a good thing I did because I discovered my Eufy security cameras have been offline for who knows how long. I set up both cameras so they're working now. I also saw that my Sirius subscription expires on 4-1 and will increase to $18.99 a month. I put a reminder in my calendar to go online and cancel on 3-30. More than likely I'll get an offer to resubscribe at a good rate. That's what happened last year. I'm going to try and get a 2 year deal. This password process is exhausting because of the authentication involved, whether emails or text messages with verification codes. I'm happy to see so much security and I won't stop until I've changed every single password, but it's time consuming. I don't think anyone can access my data from my old phone, but if they do none of my accounts will work for them. I also made sure every single account has a unique password. I used to use the same password all the time but with the hacking and data breaches that is no longer a smart move. Hackers get your password and then try it on every account they can find.
I also ordered a couple things from Amazon. I bought 2 bins for the freezer to hold my Nutrisystem items. I've been using the same 2 cardboard boxes for about 4 years or more and they're getting pretty ratty. I also bought a bin for the fridge to hold my salad items. My hope is I can just pull the whole bin out when I make a salad. I also bought a frivolous item - a key chain charm for my purse. I've been wanted one for a while so I treated myself. Later I went on Etsy and bought a new case for my phone. I've never been happy with the case I got in October because my phone is black and I chose a case with dark purple lettering and purple glitter. You just can't see it against the black phone and I don't like it. So I bought the same case with iridescent silver glitter and lettering.
