Day 21: End of Week 3

This picture will continue to be the header of my blog until I'm able to establish some better habits. I originally wrote "good habits" but I'm trying to stay away from negativity - so things are not "bad" vs "good". How about good vs better for positivity ! I think this daily reminder is helping as I've been able to start getting things done!

It was 24 degrees when I got up today and the forecast called for a high of 44. Much better than yesterday!

Breakfast was 180 calorie waffles with sugar free syrup. I did not have a morning snack. Lunch was a 230 calorie burrito with salsa and a chef salad. Afternoon snack was 80 calorie cottage cheese and 90 calorie Alyssa's cookies. Dinner was a 260 calorie Italian sausage & turkey pepperoni pizza with roasted carrots. Evening snack was a 140 calorie lemon zest cake with whipped cream.

I was up late last night because of my late night laundry, but I was actually awake when the alarm went off. After a five minute "snooze" I rolled out of bed to face the day. My stray cats have been mostly absent the past few days because of the cold and snow. The little orange guy (girl) was out there waiting for me this morning. Once the weather is warmer it'll be back to 5 or so waiting for me.

My hips were still sore this morning so I took 2 Tylenol. I didn't really want to sit at my desk, even though it's probably better for my posture. I figured a spin on the treadmill at noon would loosen things up. Easy to say at 7:56 am .. and I didn't get on the treadmill at noon. My Nutrisystem order had arrived so I decided to take care of that. By the time that was done and my lunch was made it was 12:50 and I had 10 minutes left on my lunch hour. I'd say I made good use of the time! I managed to fit every single item in the freezer and it's nicely organized, so I can continue to eat the "old" stuff before digging into the new. I got 2 extra packages of waffles, which makes up for all the french toast that was shattered! When I put the shattered french toast in the toaster I stick it back together by wetting the edges. Once a couple pieces shattered so it's not the end of the world. I make it work! I have 6 pizzas and a bunch of chicken breast hanging around so that will be on my dinner menu for a while.

The day warmed up  nicely and it was great to see the sun! Work was not super busy but I grabbed a couple new things off the worklist first thing this morning to keep me busy.

I didn't get on the treadmill after work. My body was just sore and more and more I'm thinking sitting on the couch all day is the problem. I need to motivate myself to start working in my office, because my office chair gives much more support. Regardless, I really want to get a recliner for the living room or replace my couch with a reclining sofa. If I get the porch redone I could probably put my existing couch out there. When I was sick I really wished I had a recliner to sleep in.

Last night I placed another Amazon order. I bought a vitamin D supplement that is highly rated and only $16 for a 60 day supply. I've been doing some reading and I think it would be helpful to start taking it. I also bought a plush robe. I don't have a robe and I've missed that this winter! I also bought the only thing I really needed: screen protectors for my new tablet. It's in a book style case but I really want a tempered glass screen protector on it. A couple days ago I bought an outdoor thermometer I can stick on the outside of the kitchen window, along with the bins for the fridge and freezer to hold my salad items and my Nutrisystem items. I also bought a cute key chain I can attach to my purse as a decoration. Seems like Amazon's "free shipping" doesn't ship as quickly these days. That's ok - I am not desperate for anything and I refuse to pay for Prime. Even Prime members are complaining that their merchandise doesn't ship as quickly as promised.
