Day 3: Weekend Challenges !

This picture will continue to be the header of my blog until I'm able to establish some better habits. I originally wrote "good habits" but I'm trying to stay away from negativity - so things are not "bad" vs "good". How about good vs better for positivity !

Yesterday was a good day but I didn't keep to the plan. I only got 1 workout in, didn't shower or do skincare and I didn't brush my teeth. However, I did eat according to the Nutrisystem plan ! That's a big deal ! Getting a workout in is a big deal right now too, so I see that as a positive. I am prone to setting unrealistic goals (like 5 workouts this weekend) and it's something I need to work on a bit. I also need to start pushing myself to drink more water. That's an easy fix with a tiny bit of effort !! The scale read 265 today, so I've lost 3 pounds already !

Breakfast today was a cinnamon roll. After that I didn't eat on a regular schedule. While I was out shopping I was starving (my fault for not eating enough before I went out) so I bought a "sharing size" Twix and a Diet Coke. In the car I ate 1 piece of the candy and that was 110 calories ! I also had a few sips of the soda. I will talk about this more below. When I got home (around 2 pm) I had a pepperoni pizza melt. Around 5 pm I had a chef salad. Dinner was around 9 pm and I had a roasted turkey entree with green beans. Dessert before bed was a lemon zest cake.

I'm continuing with my online cleanup efforts. Last night I spent some time cleaning up my bookmarks. I had a lot of "junk" and my favorites bar was not very organized. I finished that task this morning. Around 11 am I headed to the post office and grocery store. Picked up my Kohl's order (a set of sheets and 4 bath wash cloths) and some junk mail. I got fresh produce and a plant at Wegman's and the rest of the staples at Walmart. The plant is a kalanchoe in a pretty pink ceramic pot. It was worth the $10 just for the pot ! I got really hungry at Walmart and bought that candy bar, but I was determined NOT to eat all of it. There were 4 pieces in the package so I took one out in the car and put the rest out of reach in the Walmart bag. When I got home I put the remaining 3 pieces in a baggie and put it in the fridge. I'm not worried about the calories as they ended up on the low side yesterday (990), even with the candy. It has zero calories, but I didn't even finish the Diet Coke. I'm happy that I made it through shopping without giving in to fast food. DQ, Taco Bell, Dunkin, McD's and Cracker Barrel were on my route and I resisted them all. I picked up and put back a 1/2 loaf of gingerbread at Wegman's. I bet it is delicious ! I did buy pretzels, almonds and cashews at Walmart, but those are destined to be occasional snacks if and when I have to start going to the office. Sometimes I just need something a little salty and these are better choices than the Gardetto's snack mix.

After I put all the groceries away and fed the cats, I vegged on the couch for the rest of the day. I didn't get on the treadmill as my left hip was really bothering me. I noticed it was making me limp at Walmart. I got over 7000 steps in for the day, so I feel like that makes up for it. I always park far from the store at Wegman's and I did the same at Walmart. I've been leery of the Cicero Walmart but I'm slowly getting over the trauma of losing my phone. I could have taken some aspirin and soldiered on, but I can't live on aspirin. I know that once I get these 100 pounds off my hip will quiet down. I will try the treadmill tomorrow !
