Day 43: Spring Fever !
This picture will continue to be the header of my blog until I'm able to establish some better habits. I originally wrote "good habits" but I'm trying to stay away from negativity - so things are not "bad" vs "good". How about good vs better for positivity ! I've been up and down but I'm not giving up!
Today is Day 43 and it sure feels like Spring! It was 53 and sunny at noon. I didn't check the temp when I got up as I was late! Somehow I turned off my alarm, and I'm lucky a notification on my phone woke me up at 7:12 am! I was tired last night and although I went to bed at 8 I was still awake after 10. Regardless, I feel like I got a good nights sleep. My bed barely looked slept in, so I think I tossed and turned a bit less. That made it easier to make it this morning!
Breakfast was 160 calorie waffles with sugar free syrup and an 80 calorie yogurt. I did not have a morning snack. Lunch was the usual 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with a chef salad.
I didn't make it on the treadmill yesterday and I didn't get there at noon today even though I was dressed, had my shoes on and had my shake made. The plan was to try harder to get there at 5.
Work was busy because my boss sent me a few new things and I had a puzzling case to work on. I managed to close a few cases as well, so it was a productive day!
Keeping busy keeps my mind off the dark places. The house is starting to shape up from the winter clutter but I still have a LOT of work to do in my office. I really, really want to clear a lot of stuff out of there and move it upstairs to the spare room. However, the spare room is a disaster. I need to buy some large plastic totes so I can store stuff neatly. That might be a good weekend project!
Minnie seems to be getting used to Abby being gone. I am too, though I still miss her terribly. Ironically, Minnie has become a bit more vocal. She meows at me several times a day to let me know she wants attention, so I have to put the computer aside and throw a blanket across my lap. Once I do that she hops up and settles in. She's spending more time snoozing at the other end of the couch, but she also spends a lot of time perched on her favorite chair in the living room. She seems to be eating better and lets me know if she is hungry. I give her canned food 3 times a day and she eats dry food at her leisure.
I mentioned that I went to bed at 8 last night but that was mostly because I didn't want to end up staying up too late or being tempted to eat. Instead of scrolling my phone I played Cookie Jam.
