Day 7: The End of Week One !

I've been up and down but I'm not giving up. I might have been close to rock bottom but I held on tight and started the climb out. I can't look back and I can't change the past, but I have full control of the future when it comes to my weight.

It's Monday and it's Day 7 of this last-ditch effort to get the weight back off. It was 32 degrees when I got up this morning and by late this afternoon it was up to 48. The bright sun melted a lot of snow yesterday and today, so my grass is starting to show again. There is rain in the forecast tomorrow night and Wednesday, so what is left will probably turn into a sloppy mess. I'm so glad I was able to have my driveway repaved a few years ago, because the snow melts easily and water runs right off. Before I did that the driveway would be a snow covered mess most of the winter. That's because it was uneven and that limited how much the plow could clear away. I'm also glad I had the siding done because the addition on the back of the garage would probably have collapsed under the weight of the snow. Having that torn down was probably the smartest thing I ever did. The gutters made it through the winter so I'm considering having gutters installed on the rest of the house. First priority is having the porch redone.

Breakfast was 160 calorie waffles with sugar free syrup. I had a yogurt out but never ate it. I also didn't have my morning snack. Lunch was the usual 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt and a chef salad. Afternoon snack was 80 calorie cottage cheese and 90 calorie Alyssa's cookies. Dinner was 220 calorie chicken fettuccine alfredo over riced cauliflower. I didn't have any veggies as the broccoli & brussel sprouts I roasted the other day were overcooked and super mushy. I just couldn't choke them down and ended up throwing what I had left in the garbage. I may steam or blanch the broccoli and freeze it, then just roast the brussel sprouts. Evening snack was an 80 calorie yogurt and a 140 calorie chocolate cupcake with whipped cream. I was short on calorie for the day so that's why I had the yogurt.

I didn't make it to the treadmill at noon, even though my shoes were on and my shake was made. Sitting here at 5:07 I had zero motivation to get on the treadmill. At 5:19 I decided to redo Part 1 of Tommy Rivs "Road to Recovery" series. The workouts are 10-15 minutes and the pace is exactly where I am today. I will start that tomorrow. I think the shorter commitments will get me to the treadmill and get me back on a regular workout schedule.

I was tired today as I was awake too late last night, so I plan to get to bed early tonight. I'm skipping the shower and skincare. I weighed myself this morning and I'm holding steady at 263. Tomorrow will be my official end of week 1 weigh in. At of now I have "earned back" the 40 pound Nutrisystem bear ! I can put him back on the shelf and work on earning back the 50 pound bear. Can I do that by April 30? That would mean reaching 254 in about 36 days - 9 pounds is a totally reasonable goal.

I spent the evening watching YouTube videos and scrolling my phone. I do feel like I'm going to be successful with getting the weight back off and the struggle with exercise is nothing new. When I first started this journey back in 2019 it was not easy. Back then I commuted every day and got on the treadmill most every night after work. I need to work on pushing myself harder and holding myself accountable. My biggest problem is I don't have anyone holding me accountable. It is 100% on me and I'm not very good at it .. lol!

On that note, I'm going to pack up and head upstairs.
