Rocky Start

 

I've been up and down but I'm not giving up. I might have been close to rock bottom but I held on tight and started the climb out. I can't look back and I can't change the past, but I have full control of the future when it comes to my weight.

I'm going to try and get a daily blog published starting today. I'm typing better as my hand heals, so it's not quite so difficult!

Yesterday was quite the day! They demolished the commercial building across the street. The apartment building is still there as it's owned by someone else, but the crew told me they're trying to buy it and bring it down as well. I'm wondering if someone is going to build on the site. Anything would be an improvement over that eyesore, but the construction means noise, dust and possible street closures. I'd be happier with a green space.

During the demolition they accidentally took out the power and internet! I lost power around 2:45 yesterday and it was out until about 4:15. Internet didn't come back until after 11 pm, so I didn't get much work done yesterday. I had my ortho appointment and had to leave here at 12:20, and the power/internet went out about 15 minutes after I got home! I was able to cast YouTube to my tv when I went to bed last night, so that helped me sleep. I woke up about midnight and discovered the internet was back.

Internet was out so long because Spectrum opted to hold off their repair until demo was done - and that didn't finish until about 9:10 pm. I couldn't really blame them as the pole is so close to the building and until the whole building was down anything could have happened. I took pictures throughout the day of the progress and lots of people visited the street to see what was going on. I wasn't really mad I couldn't work, because I sat out on the front porch and watched the work. Today they worked on clearing all the debris away. My street is blocked off so I didn't bother putting the trash out. I thought about mowing the lawn during my lunch today but the jerk who mows for my neighbor was here. I decided to mow after work as the grass will be a little drier anyways.
