Another Day 9 - Life Goes On

 

I'm holding at 4 days unemployed, because holidays and weekends don't really count. Considering I'm getting paid, am I really unemployed ? I guess so. It's going to continue to be a scary place until I have a job, and hopefully I will clinch that tomorrow !

Turned out to be cloudy and a little cooler today, but it was warm enough that I didn't need to turn on the heat. I was up around 8 and after the cats were fed I had a couple cups of coffee and my breakfast. I weighed myself this morning and I am at 272. I've gained 10 pounds since I broke my wrist ! I'd guess I don't have cancer .. lol ! On that note, all is well in my digestive tract these days.

About 11:30 I headed out to gas up the car and get a few things at Walmart. I was really close to E so I got gas in town. It's was 3.599 a gallon ! This is a big reason I want a work from home job. The pitcher I use to fill my filtered water sprung a leak so I needed a new one, otherwise I really didn't "need" anything at the store. I bought some makeup and brushes and I'm going to try that tomorrow morning. Just foundation, blush and loose powder with a set of brushes. I also bought a summer nightgown, 2 sports bras and 2 t-shirts. This might sound stupid, but I'm not going to take the tags off until I have a job offer. In a pinch I can return them ! I really need some summer capris to work out in and Walmart had nothing, so I looked on Amazon. Well, the prices there were ridiculous ! I'll keep checking at Walmart. I have 3 or 4 pairs to work with already.

Tomorrow is the day to get back in to my Nutrisystem and exercise routine. I did buy pizza supplies and bags of Chex mix at the store but I didn't buy any candy or other sweets. My plan for the pizza is to try making HALF at a time and to go easy on the cheese. Half a pizza with some veggies is plenty for dinner. My plan for the Chex mix is portion control. I stopped buying the Gardetto's as the Chex mix is the same price but has 1/2 ounce more .. lol. I actually like the Chex Mix better. My last hurrah today was a frozen mocha coffee and some "everything bagel" stuffed bagel bites from Dunkin. You only get 2 of them and they were yummy. I've been craving a frozen coffee and the bagel bites hit the spot for lunch.

About 2:30 I headed outside to trim the weeds around the house. I noticed it was getting dark and when I checked the forecast it said rain around 3. I was done by 2:50. My hands were weak by the time I got done. It took a little bit for them to recover. The trimmer is bigger than I needed and the battery is heavy, so it's a workout for my arms ! I spent the rest of the afternoon watching YouTube. I had a pizza for dinner and half-way through it I realized I could easily be satisfied with half, so going forward I am only going to make a half at a time. The rain didn't show up until around 6 pm and it was just some gentle showers. I'm glad the lawn is 100% done anyway !

I took a shower and washed my hair before dinner, so I'll be all ready to style it tomorrow morning. I set an alarm for 7 am so I'll have plenty of time to feed the cats, have breakfast and do my hair and makeup. After dinner I finished watching a 1 hour YouTube video and then got to work straightening up my office and deciding how I would position my laptop. I didn't want to leave the camera angle for last minute. It didn't take long to clean things up and set a camera angle. I'm not 100% sure what I will wear. I'm thinking the blue and white pinstripe dress. We'll see ! I managed to trip a bit and scrape the top of my foot on the chair mat in my office, which is in bad shape and very sharp. If I get this job I am treating myself to a new mat !

I looked on Glassdoor to see what people are saying about Accenture. As with any company you have good reviews and bad, but their overall rating is higher than AT&T's ! They're also #7 on Forbes 2024 list of the top 100 companies to work for. AT&T is not on the list at all. It also seems there is 100% match in their 401k, which means I could start a new one. Wouldn't it be awesome if I get the job and the salary is over $100k ? I'd be happy with $80k and $90k, so I really hope they don't come in with some ridiculously low amount like $50k or $60k.

I'm probably going to have trouble getting to sleep tonight because I'm both nervous and excited about tomorrow's call. It's only scheduled for 30 minutes so once it's over I'll have the rest of the day to myself. I have laundry to do so I'll probably get that going. There's a lot of grass clippings on the lawn so I could rake some of that as well. There are plenty of things I can do around the house ! Tuesday is my meeting with the financial planner, hopefully I can go to that knowing I have a new job. Thursday I have to call and see if I have to report for jury duty next Monday. Oh happy day .. I don't really want to go but at least I've been there before and know how it works.

Michelle texted me tonight to see if I wanted to go to a drum circle on 6-21. It's not really my thing but I'm going. It's only $15 and it's a night out.

It's 8:30 now and I'm kind of tired, so I'm going to have my evening snack, finish watching the YouTube live I have on and then go to bed. Here's to a successful interview !
